Did you know that there is an estimated number of 2,500 animal shelters in Canada, taking in more than 4 million dogs and cats each year? Sadly, less than half of these animals in need ever find a home... but shelters still need funding to support them. Overpopulation is a growing problem and can be greatly reduced by spaying and neutering your pets.
Needless to say, overpopulation contributes to overcrowded shelters and at least 3 million cats and dogs are facing euthanasia each year! The good news is that there are many ways to help these animals...  from volunteering at your local shelter to fundraising for animal charities to donating well needed supplies.
Learn more about how you can help the Hanna SPCA.
Our costs include rent, utilities, as well as, food and litter, and we also pay for all of the animals that come into our care to get their first shots and they are spayed or neutered. On top of those costs, the Hanna SPCA has a number of consumable supplies that we use.
Freson Bros. Hanna and Hanna Fresh Market have generously agreed to host displays and post signage around their businesses pointing out the supplies needed, as well as hosting a donation collection point. Be sure to visit them today to find the supplies we are thankful to receive!
