SURRENDERING AN ANIMAL
What Is Surrendering?
If you are no longer able to look after your pet, you can surrender it to us and we will try to place it in a loving adoptive home. We get as much information about your pet as possible to find a suitable adoptive home. The Hanna SPCA Pet Rescue and Shelter has a thorough adoption process so you can be sure that your pet will find a loving adoptive home.
What Is the Cost and Why?
The cost associated with supporting your pet while at Hanna SPCA varies; this cost is dependent on the length of stay, veterinary exams, vaccines and any spaying/neutering or other medical treatments that are required.
There is no mandatory cost associated with surrendering your pet; however, we ask that you consider the cost of supporting your animal while it is housed at the Hanna SPCA and provide some financial support to allow us to continue to care for your pet. Donations of food, crates, pet carriers and other supplies are also greatly appreciated. Your support enables us to care for the many animals we receive every year.
The suggested fees for surrendering are as follows:
Dog with a current health record (up to date within 6 months) $65
Dog without a current health record $130
Cat with a current health record (up to date within 6 months) $45
Cat without a current health record $90
Cat with a litter $120
